This stomach-churning video could be the most extreme case of head lice ever seen, as hundreds of nasty creepy crawlies are brushed from a child’s head. The infestation is much worse than the usual with only couple of lice nesting in the head. In this footage, a mom can be seen struggling to drag a nit comb through her poor daughter’s thick, dark hair. After she manages to pull the brush, hundreds or even thousands of disturbing parasites are trapped in the comb, forming balls of nits!

Experts believe that the lice may have been there for so long that they even built nests in the girl’s hair.

Up to several thousand lice could fit on a human head, but normal infestations are much smaller. During their 30-day lifespan, female head lice can lay up to 300 eggs, which can lead to an infestation developing very quickly if not treated immediately.

Dee Wright, a salon owner whose business provides a “Lice Assasins” treatment, said the video was similar to some of the worst cases she has seen. She also told MailOnline that the balls of nits were due to the clumping of the parasites together. “They’re a big ball of lice fighting each other for survival,” Wright added.

Ms. Wright also claimed that the girl’s mother in the video might be doing more harm than good to her daughter. She advised parents to use a nit comb on wet hair, and to wash the brush off after each comb.
